Elaine McCarty is an ordained interfaith and interspecies minister, an Animal Reiki Master, and passionate educator. In 2018, she walked away from a 35-year corporate career to follow a calling she could no longer ignore — a ministry of love devoted to nurturing the well-being of animals, the planet, and the human spirit.
A pioneer in human–animal spiritual connection, Elaine helps others rediscover the sacred bond between species. Through her teachings and sessions, she connects clients and students with the wisdom of animals — showing how they serve as powerful conduits for healing, transformation, and awakening.

While dog-sitting for this bonded pair of Weimeraners, I turned on the camera for our daily Reiki session. Take a look and watch how quickly Reiki helps them to get calm. At one point, Shelby brings her blankie to lie down by me. No filters, no edits (except for the part where Payton knocked over the camera), just a peaceful time spent with these beautiful dogs!

Cats show us exactly why we let animals choose how to receive the healing energy of Reiki. Forcing Reiki hand positions on an active cat is invasive and counterproductive. Bubba J, a feral cat who "tolerates" humans, shows us he can enjoy the healing benefits of Reiki without hands-on treatment.
